A chimney chase is basically a framed box that contain the flue lining system to your fireplace or furnace.Atop your chimney chase in the chase cover which is a metal covering that is or should be designed in a fashion to seal out the elements.Chase covers are made with stainless steel, aluminum or galvanized metal, these covers are designed to shield the chimney from rain, snow, animals, and debris, preventing damage and ensuring proper functionality.
